Edencrete mkes first sale into New York market

Carbon nanotube concrete additive developer, Eden Innovations (ASX: EDE) has broken into the New York construction market, announcing its first customer for EdenCretePz.

New York readymix supplier United Transit Mix is to use the additive in its standard concrete mix at its Brooklyn plant.

Eden is installing a bulk tank dispensing system for storing and dispensing the additive for concrete mixes to be used in low and mid-rise construction.

United has also placed its commercial order for the additive.

Eden has been successful penetrating regional markets such as Georgia supplying its additives for use in highway and bridge repairs, but the New York news is an important step forward for the company.

EdenCrete’s advantage is its carbon nanotubes give greater bearing capacity for applications such as slabs, columns or footings.

The nanotubes fill the spaces at the nanoscopic level between the hydrated cement particles, creating flexible and strong carbon bridges.

United has been able to achieve in testing Eden’s additive higher strength concretes and lowered carbon footprint due to the need for less cement to be used in the mix.
