Livium’s battery recycling subsidiary, Envirostream Australia, has signed a five-year recycling agreement with battery and solar systems supplier ZECO Energy.
In an ASX statement on Tuesday, Livium said the agreement, which is dated to February 19, will see Envirostream provide exclusive recycling services for end-of-life residential and commercial energy storage system (ESS) battery packs supplied through ZECO Energy’s network.
ZECO claims a base of over 40,000 customers, and is a supplier of brands including Tesla and Samsung SDI.
The deal will see Livium receive a processing fee (no expected volumes or values were shared in the statement) for sorting and recycling, as well as fees for supplementary services such as battery dismantling, discharging, and transport.
“This partnership ensures that end-of-life batteries are repurposed responsibly, supporting both environmental and industry sustainability,” said Livium CEO and Managing Director Simon Linge on Tuesday.
“Building out the network of sources of end-of-life batteries gives us the confidence to scale our recycling business which will allow us to service more markets.”
Livium’s business includes extracting, processing, and recycling of materials for the lithium-ion battery industry.
Last week its subsidiary, VSPC, was awarded $30 million in conditional funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency to support a planned demonstration plant for battery cathode materials.
