Extel Technologies acquires Synergetics

Melbourne-headquartered product development and electronics engineering company Extel Technologies has announced the acquisition of Monterey, California-based contract electronics manufacturer Synergetics Manufacturing, following “several years of diligent efforts”.

In a statement on Monday, Extel said the acquisition is a culmination of a long-time presence in California in pursuit of its US expansion plan and would add “a wealth of additional expertise, experience, and capabilities in electronics design, manufacturing, and lifecycle management services”.

The value of the acquisition was not given.

“It allows us to combine our strengths with those of Synergetics, driving innovation, expanding our reach, and ultimately delivering even greater value  to our customers,” said Extel CEO Bruce Fitzgerald. 

“We are excited to embark on this journey and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for our company, our  people and our customers.” 

According to the statement, it also allows Extel to now offer formal compliance to standards including ISO9001 and ISO13485, and to ITAR. 

According to its company profile on Linkedin, Extel was founded in 1991 and has a presence in Melbourne, Brisbane, Irvine in California, and Singapore.

Synergetics has US customers in sectors such as medical, military, homeland security, and industrial.
