Fast-growing QLD RV company moves into new factory

Recreational vehicle builder Zone RV has made its third site move since getting started in 2015, and relocated to an $8 million purpose-built factory at Coolum Business Park.

Zone RV specialises in custom-built vehicles made from 100 per cent composite panels. It has grown from two founders to a headcount of 90, the company said in a statement, and revenues of $40 million.

“We had experience across marine, aeronautical and civil construction but developing a new benchmark in the high-tech caravan manufacturing industry was a leap of faith that led to light-weight, dust and water tight caravans with a stylish and luxurious finish,” said director Matt Johns.

“Zone RV uses the highest quality third party products, including local and Queensland suppliers incorporating the highest quality and innovative suspension systems, lithium batteries, and battery management systems – injecting a further $10 million a year into the local South-East Queensland economy.”

According to Zone RV, its supply chain includes a dozen Sunshine Coast companies, and a dozen others from elsewhere in Queensland.

The company added that it is planning international expansion and diversification.

The new 4,500 square metre site – including manufacturing facility, showroom and service centre – was built with the assistance of Ozzy Cranes, Zone’s new landlord.
