First ADSTAR Summit to be held at ICC Sydney in July

A summit linking participants in the defence science ecosystem will debut in July at Sydney’s International Convention Centre.

The Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research (ADSTAR) Summit will run July 20-22, 2022.

According to a statement from the Department of Defence on Tuesday., it will present an opportunity to “engage with leaders, entrepreneurs, business and government across Australia’s research and development ecosystem”.

Speakers booked for the conference include:

  • United Kingdom Ministry of Defence’s Chief Scientific Advisor Professor Dame Angela McLean: 
  • United States Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Heidi Shyu; 
  • Australia’s Chief Scientist Dr Cathy Foley, and 
  • Chief of the Nuclear Powered Submarine Taskforce Vice Admiral Jonathan Mead.

The hybrid event will feature presentations, poster sessions, trade displays, networking events, demonstrations and virtual tours.
