First commercial sale of DotzShield

Nanotechnology development company Dotz Nano has made its first commercial sale of its proprietary in-product tagging solution, DotzShield, to a U.S. based provider of oilfield technology to the oil and gas sector.

The order marks a pivotal milestone for Dotz in its commercialisation journey, according to an announcement, validating the company’s solution for real-time corrosion inhibitor (CI) utilisation which protects pipes and equipment against corrosion.

The order from ChampionX follows a long-term collaboration between Dotz and the client to develop, scale-up, and field test its DotzShield product in locations in North America.

Chief Executive Officer of Dotz Nano Sharon Malka said: “This milestone underscores the benefits of our groundbreaking proprietary tool.

“This order represents the culmination of five years of close collaboration, during which we created a groundbreaking tool to address the complex challenge of monitoring and managing corrosion inhibitors.

The adoption of our tagging solution by a world leading service provider to the oil and gas industry, represents a significant market opportunity for DotzShield.”

DotzShield technology combines sensors and nanotechnology to detect and quantify corrosion inhibitors within oilfield facilities, enabling on-site dosage management and significant savings on maintenance cost associated with corrosion inhibitor overdosing and underdosing.

In the past, detecting and quantifying corrosion inhibitors in drilling fluids required samples to be shipped to centralised laboratories for analysis, a process that could take weeks or even months, making it time-consuming, expensive, and highly inefficient.

The Company’s primary focus remains on developing and commercialising its carbon capture technology, DotzEarth, as an enabler of carbon neutrality.
