First Graphene to supply swimming pool manufacturer

Graphene products supplier First Graphene will supply its pureGRAPH powders for incorporation into fibreglass laminates used to manufacture swimming pools.

The Perth company has signed a two-year agreement with Aquatic Leisure Technologies to provide the material to be used in a new range of pools planned by the company.

The two companies have worked together over the past two years to develop and test new resins incorporating small amounts of graphene which give pools improved flexural strength and reduced potential for osmotic blistering.

ALT plans to utilise the new pool technology in pools offered for sale in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Reunion Island.

The companies have agreed on a minimum annualised order quantity of 2.5 tonnes of pureGRAPH.

First Graphene CEO Craig McGuckin said the agreement was one of a number of supply arrangements likely to be executed this year.

“PureGRAPH additives are a key enabler in taking elastomers, composites, coatings and concrete materials to a new level and we will continue to seek our further new applications.”
