Australasian dairy powerhouse Fonterra has joined with a German start-up to provide research and product development expertise for the development of new milk products and foods.
Fonterra has entered into a strategic partnership with YFood and made a ‘small investment of capital’ in the business which focuses on what the company calls ‘complete food’ for people with busy lifestyles in the form of drinks, bars and powder.
YFood makes a range of products including a drink (pictured) which replaces a complete meal, providing 25 per cent of daily nutrition.
Fonterra’s GM Europe Thijs Bosch said: “This is a great step to further strengthen Fonterra’s positron as the leading ingredient solutions supplier in the growing active nutrition market in Europe and beyond.
“Our product development and R&D capabilities will support the YFood team in developing great tasting products with our range of specialty ingredients.”
