The recently-updated Food Processing Machinery Manufacturing in Australia report from market research firm IBISWorld estimates an industry worth $1.4 billion in revenues in 2024-25, and which saw a 1.6 per cent compound annual growth rate in the last five years.

According to IBISWorld, there are 481 businesses with 3,300 employees operating in the sector in Australia, which is seeing “high internal and external competition, consisting of many small-scale manufacturers”.

The largest company is Moffat (part of the Ali Group), which IBISWorld estimates will see revenues of $148.4 million in 2025, and Sydney-based TNA Solutions (estimated revenue of $73.7 million for 2025.)

The report tips a difficult time for the industry over the next five years – including a revenue drop of 5.3 per cent in 2024-25 – with domestic food processing machinery manufacturers “set to face continuous, intensifying pressure from imports.”
