Gekko Systems to supply gold concentration plant

Classic Minerals has bought a Gekko Systems gravity processing module for use at flagship Kat Gold Project near Southern Cross in Western Australia’s goldfields region.

An attraction for Classic is that the Ballarat-made Gekko plant is modular and mounted on containerised elements providing for scalability and ease of modification.

The plant has a 30 tonne per hour capacity and is scalable to a full-size Gekko Python ore concentration system.

The mobility associated with the modular construction, enables Classic to locate the plant adjacent to the ore body which further minimises cartage and processing costs.

This purchase is for a two-stage gravity concentration plant which will form the basis of the processing facility to be set up and operated by Classic at its Kat Gap gold deposit.

The Gekko plant is ideally suited to processing Kat Gap ore which has a unique high gravity gold concentration potential.

Test work shows that gravity processing and conventional cyanide leaching recovers up to 96 per cent of the contained gold in the Kat Gap ores, paving the pathway to low cost production.
