“This expansion will accommodate our growing business and provide us with the ability to support larger projects, especially ones related to civilian emergency services.

“There will be tangible benefits for our Queensland defence and civilian partners, including reduced transportation costs and downtime for maintenance and repairs.”

GDS, part of Alkath Group, and its current work includes partnering with Thomas Global Solutions the M1A2 Abrams main battle tank Immersive Tactical Trainer (ITT) and deployable training systems for the Australian Army’s Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles.

The company also announced acquisition of another building in South Nowra, NSW, describing this as “further enhancing its commitment to providing comprehensive services” to the Australian Defence Force.

“With these strategic moves, GDS is positioning itself as a key player in the defence industry, both domestically and with the potential for future exports,” added Bendall.
