GUD buys Swedish automotive lighting business

auGUD Holdings has acquired European automotive lighting distribution business Rindab (RVX) for $12 million.

GUD will acquire RVX, and its subsidiary Vision X Europe, from its current Swedish owners, a private family business.

The Australian company said RVX will complement its existing Brown and Watson International (BWI) products and distribution facilities in Sweden.

RVX’s customers include manufacturers like Volvo and Scania, selling light bars, truck and bus cameras, and digital mirror systems.

BWI chief executive George Davies said,“Rindab has the market expertise to drive the distribution of Vision X lighting and other products through its network of original equipment and aftermarket customers and to enter new European markets, giving BWI a footprint into one of the stronger and larger lighting management markets globally.”

GUD CEO Graeme Whickman added that the acquisition “is consistent with GUD’s strategy of diversifying into new markets and further strengthens one of GUD’s key strategic imperatives to build a global specialist leadership position in automotive lighting”.

The acquisition will be funded through GUD’s debt facilities.
