Impression Healthcare wins right to sell medical cannabis products

Local manufacturer Impression Healthcare (ASX: IHL) has received the required licenses to allow it to make and sell medical cannabis products in Australia.

The company announced today it had received licenses from the Victorian Department of Health to sell products containing four scheduled cannabinoid substances.

The approvals cover cannabis, cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinols (THC) and dronabinol.

Impression CEO, Joel Latham said: “We are delighted to achieve our licensing objectives well ahead of anticipated timing.

“Being permitted to sell and supply cannabinoid medicines throughout Australia works to unlock the value in the relationships we have already formed with our proposed suppliers.”

The company began as a manufacturer of dental devices, but has been on the expansion trail since listing on the stockmarket.

Last year it bought a competitor, Gameday Mouthguard, and released an anti-snoring product.

The company has arrangements with overseas and local suppliers, and intends to be an importer and exporter of cannabinoid medicines.
