Industry reawakens as more normal business ramps up

Manufacturers are slowly adjusting to another new normal as global business ramps up as Covid-19 restrictions are gradually eased.

Geelong wheel manufacturer Carbon Revolution today reported its global customers were resuming production and were calling for normal wheel supply to resume.

The company told investors that Ferrari restarted production early this month and had now returned to full production.

Ford’s Flat Rock plant which produces the Mustang GT500 resumed production this week on a one-shift basis.

The ramp up process ‘will be gradual as workers adjust to the new health and safety protocols and he entire supply chain comes up to speed.’

The company’s customers had asked Carbon Revolution to maintain production of its unique one-piece carbon fibre road wheels even during the pandemic.

The company said: “The team has remained healthy and focused whilst embracing the Covid-19 related work practices and restrictions.

“The company remains well capitalised and ready to continue its growth plansas markets regain momentum.”
