Welding technology developer K-TIG has established its operations in the United States through a partnership with Key Plant Automation, a manufacturer of welding equipment and robotic production cells.
Under the agreement Key Plant will establish a demonstration facility in Houston for K-TIG’s keyhole-TIG welding systems and K-TIG will set up an in-country technical capability.
K-TIG has appointed two senior business development executives in Houston and Philadelphia to drive market expansion.
Key Plant will now distribute K-TIG’s welding equipment in the US as part of their turnkey welding automation solutions.
K-TIG technology is a highly refined, keyhole variation of TIG/GTAW developed by the CSIRO more than a decade ago that dramatically improves cost, quality and welding productivity.
Initially K-TIG was focusing on US market entry in the pressure vessel market.
K-TIG executive director Adrian Smith said: “The USA has been and will continue to be K-TIG’s single largest market.
“Our US market development strategy is to drive revenue through on-the-ground direct marketing as well as the execution of strategic partnership and distribution arrangements which we believe will accelerate growth.”
