Deakin progresses sodium battery design

Materials scientists at Deakin University’s Institute for Frontier Materials have discovered that super concentrated ionic liquids are key to achieving better batteries that utilise sodium rather than lithium. The new work by ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science (ACES) PhD student Dmitrii Rakov, combines sodium metal anodes and safe, high-performing ionic liquid electrolytes.

South Australia’s new apprentice pathway

The unique Skills Lab higher apprenticeship pathway for careers in high tech industries will be launched in South Australia this week. The Lab, which delivers a Diploma in Advanced Technologies focused on digital skills needed for industry 4.0, is supported by companies Redarc, Sage Automation, Philmac, Vinpac, Sandvik and Treasury Wine Estates.

JAT creates new brand for China distribution

Specialist China export Jatenergy has created a new brand of mother and baby care products, Abbeyard, for distribution by China’s largest B2B e-commerce platform, Hipac. The first product to be launched is an A2 protein children’s milk powder, with sales of $4.8 million planned in the next 12 months.
