Traffic Technologies secures Tasmanian street light contract

Traffic, IoT and smart city hardware and software manufacturer Traffic Technologies has secured a contract to supply Tasmanian electricity distributor TasNetworks with LED street lights. The contract, valued at up to $5 million, will see the supply of energy efficient pedestrian and vehicle lights, supplementing the 27,000 smart city lights the company has previously supplied to TasNetworks. The lighting is inked to Traffic Technologies Smart City Platform and reduces both CO2 emissions and power and maintenance costs.

DroneShield receives $500,000 follow on order

Drone detection and countermeasure manufacturer DroneShield has received a $500,000 follow on order from a US government agency which it has not named. The company did not reveal the nature of the order, however included a photograph (main picture) with its statement showing the company’s RtPatrol Mk11 body-worn drone detection system. CEO Oleg Vormik said the customer had some of the most demanding and complex government requirements globally. “(This) shows the industry leading capabilities of DroneShield products. We believe that we are now at an inflection point with a number of high profile customers, with the next step being regular multi-million dollar orders.” Payment will be received in the September quarter.

PACER ministers meet to strengthen Pacific

Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations Plus (PACER Plus) ministers met yesterday to discuss Pacific trade and development cooperation at the second PACER Plus Ministers’ Meeting. Assistant Minister for Trade Tim Ayres used the meeting to reaffirm the importance of PACER Plus in deepening trade cooperation in the Pacific and supporting the region’s economic recovery. Ayres said: “The pandemic has highlighted the importance of close engagement with our Pacific neighbours. PACER Plus provides an important platform for members to work together to grow trade and investment in the region.” Tuvalu and Vanuatu were welcomed as new members of the forum.
