New Chairman announced for the Australian Made Campaign

The Board of Australian Made Campaign has appointed a new Chairman in Allyn Beard (pictured), director of Sydney-based mattress manufacturer A.H. Beard. Beard succeeds outgoing Chairman, Glenn Cooper of Coopers Brewery in leading the body which licenses the Australian made logo. The Beard family has guided one of Australia’s largest furniture manufacturers into export markets including its own shops in China.

Noxopharm completes $23 million share placement

Drug development company Noxopharm has raised $23 million from institutions to fund clinical trials of its Veyonda anti-cancer drug. Veyonda enhances the safety and effectiveness of standard oncology treatments such as chemotherapy by stimulating an anti-inflammatory effect. The funds will finance three separate trials involving 386 patients suffering late stage prostate, breast and lung cancers.

tna Solutions funds wheelchair manufacturer in Bangladesh

Food preparation and packaging machinery manufacturer tna Solutions has provided support in building a wheelchair factory in Bangladesh. The factory makes custom wheelchairs and provides physical therapy to children with cerebral palsy. The Sydney company took to social media on International Day of Persons with Disabilities to reveal the support, which is made through the charity set up by its founders, the Alf and Nadia Taylor Foundation.
