MM Plastics expands with new plastics business acquisition

One of Australia’s largest plastics groups MM Plastics has acquired Dangenong South, Melbourne injection moulding firm Micro Precision Plastics (MPP).

MM Plastics, a division of Metal Manufactures Limited, bought the family-owned maker of components, products, and assemblies serving industries including Automotive, Consumer Goods, Safety, Spa & Pool, Building & Construction, Pharmaceuticals and Housewares

MPP houses 22 cutting-edge injection moulding machines.as well as offering value-added services, encompassing toolmaking, engineering, material selection, and product assembly.

The business was previously owned by CEO Russell Lacy who began work at the company 39 years ago as a storeman, eventually becoming General Manager and buying the business from its previous owner in 2015.

The MM Plastics family includes the distributor of semi-finished engineering thermoplastics and conveyor components Dotmar Engineering Plastics, sign, digital, and display solutions supplier Graphic Art Mart, PTFE and PEEK powders and compression moulded PTFE and PEEK semi-finished shapes manufacturer Fluoro Pacific and Amari Visual Solutions.

Amari Visual Solutions, is itself an amalgamation of Amari Plastics, Australian Visual Solutions and Chief Media.

Executive General Manager of MM Plastics Mousa Elsarky said: “We are constantly seeking exceptional opportunities to expand our business to better serve the Australian and New Zealand markets across various plastic segments.”
