A program providing a total of $400,000 in vouchers to WA-based medical products SMEs is now accepting applications.
The MTPConnect Manufacturing Voucher Program was launched on Thursday, and provides between $50,000 and $100,000 in matched funding to successful applicants.
MTPConnect CEO Dr Dan Grant said the funding would assist “projects across the pre-production, production and post-production phases of the manufacturing cycle and all of the project’s activities need to be undertaken in WA.”
“If your project can establish a capability to manufacture medical products that doesn’t currently exist in WA, you are encouraged to apply.”
Projects can run for a maximum of nine months, and must be completed by May 30, 2022.
Potential projects include (but are not limited to)
- small proof-of-concept runs for early-stage companies/start-ups;
- implementing or upgrading a relevant quality management system (e.g. ISO 13485);
- digitalisation of manufacturing industry technologies and processes relevant to the production of medical products; and
- support for upscaling activities.
Applications are open until midday (AWST) Thursday June 11. Application information can be found here.
