New deal to boost Australian baby formula manufacturing

Australian Dairy Nutritionals (ADN) has signed an agreement with baby formula company Nutura Organic to manufacture intermediate and fortified milk formula base powders in Victoria.

This deal is a major jump for ADN, which produced its first milk powder at its Camperdown, Victoria plant in 2022, and opens up Nutura’s established formula markets in Australia, China and Vietnam to ADN. Nutura also recently entered the Thai market.

“We are pleased to be the manufacturing partners for Nutura Organic,” Australian Dairy Nutritionals CEO Mahi Sundaranathan said, adding that this agreement establishes a key partner for ADN.

“Nutura is expanding rapidly into new markets and our vertically integrated organic farms and manufacturing capability will play a key role in providing high quality base power for Nutura.”

This vertical integration includes organic A2 dairy farms, and a processing facility located in the ‘Golden Triangle’ of Victoria’s diary industry.

Nutura CEO Jeremy Okraglik this is a strategic partnership which will help drive innovation and development of these products.

However, ADN noted that this manufacturing agreement will not be immediately financially material, as sales volumes are not yet finalised.
