Manuko, a small manufacturer specialising in premium organic treats, may not seem an obvious candidate for reaping the rewards of generative artificial intelligence.
But the forward-looking confectioner – recently featured on our podcast – is doing just that.
Founder and Director Matt Hardie lists some places where it’s made life easier.
“Reading equipment manuals and helping draft safety operating procedures, or acting as a research assistant in finding suppliers of different ingredients in different countries, and also with supporting in new product development,” are a few he shares with us.
Manuko has been in business for a little over a decade, starting in a spare bedroom, using a contract manufacturer as they scaled up, and then bringing production in-house and moving into a factory in Torquay’s West Coast Business Park in 2021.
Hardie believes that no manufacturing business should think of themselves as too small or young to care about the impact and usefulness of AI.
“AI can be an incredibly useful tool in a variety of different areas, especially for those businesses who may be small and lack resources,” he says.
You can learn more about how AI is changing the way Manuko and others are doing business through our free webinar, Mfg and AI – the how and why, which will air on August 14 at 11:00 am (AEST.)
Hardie will appear on a panel presented by @AuManufacturing and SoftLabs alongside:
Don’t miss out on this fascinating discussion, moderated by @AuManufacturing editor Brent Balinski, where we will discuss the unavoidable rise in artificial intelligence and what enterprises are doing to ensure they aren’t left behind.
