Nominations opened on Thursday for the annual Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards, now in their 22nd year, with 14 awards to be presented at a gala dinner in October.
Industry minister Natalie Hutchins opened nominations for the 2024 awards, calling Victoria the nation’s “home of advanced manufacturing” and stating that the awards provide a “spotlight on our brightest manufacturing talent”.
Awards will include Leader in Construction Technologies, Leader in Textile, Clothing and Footwear, Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year, and a new category for this year: Leader in Gender Equality and Inclusion. A full list is reproduced below.
According to the state government, its manufacturing industry is worth $33.5 billion, is made up of more than 23,000 businesses, supports approximately 260,000 jobs, and contributes $23.9 billion worth of exports annually.
Nominations close on June 17, and the awards will be held on Wednesday, October 9.
