Nominations have opened for NSW’s annual export awards, with the program covering 13 national categories and five NSW categories and accepting nominations until Friday June 14.

In a statement on Wednesday, Investment NSW’s Deputy Secretary Katie Knight said the state’s exports continued to grow, currently contributing $150 billion, and with trade supporting one in five Australian jobs.

“Businesses which export are a major driver of economic growth, and these awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success of these businesses in strengthening NSW’s position as Australia’s most globally connected economy,” said Knight.

Finalists for the NSW Export Awards are expected to be announced in September in the lead-up to an awards ceremony on Friday October 11, with a NSW Exporter of the Year selected from among category winners.

Winners from the 13 national-level categories will proceed to the National Export Awards Ceremony on November 20.

The 13 categories are Advanced Technologies , Agribusiness, Food and Beverages, Creative Industries, e-Commerce, Emerging Exporter, International Education and Training, International Health, Manufacturing and Advanced Materials, Professional Services,  Regional Exporter, Resources and Energy, Small Business, and Sustainability  and Green Economy.
