Osteopore appoints first US distributor

3D printed bone healing implant manufacturer Osteopore has appointed Bioplate Inc as a non-exclusive distributor in the US market.

Osteopore’s bioresorbable implants, or bone scaffolds, are used in conjunction with surgical procedures to assist with the natural stages of bone healing.

Made from a US FDA approved polymer called polycaprolactone (PCL), Osteopore implants slowly degrade away in the body as natural bone and tissue replaces it during healing.

Under a two year agreement Bioplate will distribute Osteopore products for cranial and neurosurgery procedures in California, Arizona, Texas, Ohio Wyoming, Indiana and Puerto Rico.

Bioplate, an established supplier of cranial surgical fixings, will provide technical support and education services.

Bioplate has already received small orders for Osteopore products from the University of California.

The two companies will work together to promote the products to influential neurosurgeons in coming weeks.

Osteopore has focused on the Asian market since its IPO in 2019, with this agreement its first in the United States.
