Over 400 suppliers involved in recent infantry fighting vehicle roadshow

Interest from local suppliers in Phase 3 of LAND 400 appears strong, with the federal government announcing “a record” 400-plus participants, despite a pandemic, in the Australian Industry Capability Roadshow running from March to May.
The two shortlisted tenderers for the project, Hanwha Defense Australia and Rheinmetall Defence Australia, met with potential suppliers from various Australian cities.
“Using a videoconferencing platform, the Roadshow transitioned to a virtual environment which replicated the experience of the individual face-to-face meetings,” said defence industry minister Melissa Price in a statement.
The project will supply up to 450 infantry fighting vehicles and 17 support vehicles to the Australian government.
The preferred tenderer will be selected in 2022, following the current stage two “risk mitigation activity”, scheduled for Q4 2019 – Q4 2021.
