Packserv to begin local packaging equipment manufacturing

Packing machinery hire specialist Packserv Group is to launch into local manufacturing with machines to be made at a new plant at Marrickville in New South Wales

The company has changed its name to Packserv Manufacturing to reflect its new engineering and manufacturing focus, and has announced 26 locally designed and engineered machines.

The filling, capping and container handling machines, the culmination of two years of research and development, are aimed at FMGC, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries in Australia and overseas.

The new machines are tailored and priced to suit small to medium sized enterprises.

Managing director Nathan Wardell said: “After years of renting out packaging machinery, Packserv has come full circle and returned to the family tradition of manufacturing packaging machinery.

“We are now third generation packaging and manufacturing.”

Packserv was founded by Wardell 13 years ago and has established a niche position in providing packaging equipment for rental.

Wardell said he was proud and excited to bring these machines to the market.

“Now more than ever before we are needing to concentrate on bringing manufacturing back to Australian shores.

“Öur new machines, incorporating the latest materials and technologies at competitive prices, will make that a reality”

Packserv has an existing technical infrastructure supporting its rental business, making the launch of new machines simpler.

“We now have a suite of 26 machines that utilise state of the art materials and technology to fill most packaging requirements.
