Prebricated building solutions business PARKD has announced that it will proceed with Stage 2 of its design and construction contract with John Hughes Automotive Group, for a multi-level car storage facility supporting a VW service centre in Victoria Park, Perth.
According to a statement on Tuesday from the ASX-listed PARKD, Stage 2 services involve “supply, installation, assembly and fitout works” with works scheduled to this month and scheduled to be complete by September. It gave the value of works as $4.3 million, “under terms and conditions that are industry standard for a contract of this nature”.
The company says its design will lead to 50 per cent less concrete being used in construction.
Stage 1 saw the company further develop its proprietary prefabricated structural system and incorporate its Metal Deck Connection System, improving safety, productivity and sustainability, it said.
Manufacture and supply of the Metal Deck Connection System will be delivered by BlueScope’s subsidiary Fielders Steel Roofing, one of at least two projects in a 12-month proof-of-concept period demonstrating and optimising performance of the PARKDConnection System.
“I am delighted to see the timing of this contract award coincide with the commencement of our binding licencing terms with Fielders and the desire of both companies to complete two projects using our patent protected connection system with the Slimdek 210 Fielders product before making this system available to the broader construction market,” said Managing Director, Peter McUtchen.
“This carpark is a great example of PARKDs leadership and innovation in the design and construction of this asset type in Australia and we see great potential with our current supply partners to scale our solutions nationally.”
Earlier this month, PARKD announced entry into Binding Commercial Terms with Fielders for licencing of its Metal Deck Support System (MDSS) and intellectual property.
