Pure Hydrogen takes over HDrive distributorship

Manufacturing News

Green hydrogen developer Pure Hydrogen is to take over HDrive which is the distributor for zero emission vehicles and its Taurus hydrogen fuel cell truck (pictured).

Pure Hydrogen will acquire 60 percent of HDrive International for the equivalent of $2.2 million, with existing shareholders retaining the rest of the company which oversaw the build and delivery of the Taurus.

Taurus – an Australian designed 229kW 6×4 prime mover with a hydrogen refuelling point and low voltage power system – is Pure Hydroigen’s second vehicle.

It followed the release of the company’s hydrogen powered waste and cement trucks which are being trialled by JJ’s Waste & Recycling, Australia’s largest privately-owned waste management company.

Pure Hydrogen will invest further in HDrive to boost its distribution capabilities.

Managing Director Scott Brown said the company would be well positioned to transition from trial to vehicle circulation phase.

Brown said: “The response to the Taurus prime mover has been absolutely amazing and we have gathered strong interest from potential customers.

“We are confident we can turn that interest into sales over the coming months.”

Brown said he was impressed with the HDrive team which is now a leading hydrogen fuel cell vehicle distributor in Australia and abroad.

“It now has an impressive suite of Australian-designed hydrogen trucks and buses manufactured with some of the best components in the industry including Ballard Fuel Cells, Hexagon Cylinders and Wisdom Motors.”
