Queensland company gets grant for boring equipment

Berg Engineering has earned a $161,719 grant under the Queensland government’s Manufacturing Hubs Grant Program.
The funds would help Berg – which has manufacturing sites at Brendale and Gladstone – purchase advanced line boring equipment, it said. According to the company, it would assist in creating five new jobs and entering the defence, energy and mining markets.
“This equipment is part of our plan to transition to advanced manufacturing from its traditional practices, which is the direction we, and the entire industry, need to take,” said owner and CEO Derek Berg.
Berg was established in 1972 in Brisbane.
