Swiss-headquartered Bucher Municipal has announced that it will acquire Richards Coach Works for an undisclosed amount.

According to a statement from Bucher, the purchase “complements its extensive customer service network in the Oceania region.”

Richards, formerly known as Stan Richards Truck Body Builders, was established in 1948, and performs truck body building and repairs.

The Sunshine, Victoria-based company operates ten workshop bays, including for blasting and spraying. It has been owned by and managed by Ross and Martin Smith since 2011, and has “shifted the focus of the business to refurbishing and repairing refuse compactor equipment” during this time.

Bucher Municipal is a division of Bucher Industries. According to its website, BM has 18 manufacturing sites on five continents, employs 2,370 worldwide, and specialises in traffic area cleaning, such as snow clearing and road sweeping. It also makes construction equipment.
