Ridley opens new Tasmanian extruded feed plant






Ridley Corporation (ASX: RIC) has opened a new animal feed extrusion plant at Westbury in northern Tasmania.

The plant, capable of producing 50,000 tonnes a ear of aquaculture and pet foods, is strategically located close to transport to supply the Australian mainland as well as the state.

Ridley CEO, David Lord praised the high quality, state of the art facility at yesterday’s opening.

Lord said: “This facility allows Ridley to combine its market leading technical and nutritional expertise with world class manufacturing capability.

“It is a mark of our commitment to the extruded feed industries.”

Ridley, a leading producer of high quality feeds, eceived support of $2 million from the Tasmanian government for the project, which created 20 full time jobs.

Tasman Premier, Will Hodgman attended the opening along with primary industries minister, Guy Barnett.
