Rode Microphones expands to podcast electronics.

Sydney professional audio manufacturer RØDE Microphones has branched out into a fast growing area of media with the release of an all-in-one podcast production studio, the RØDECaster Pro.

The RØDECaster creates professional-quality podcasts using its four microphone channels, inputs for all modern devices and advanced sound processing. It is programmable from your computer and livestreams and records direct to microSD Card.

Peter Freedman, managing director of RØDE said: “(It) replaces thousands of dollars of equipment and makes professional podcasts easy, whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned pro.

“It’s incredible technology and a massive step up for RØDE.”

RØDE employs 250 people and is a world leading manufacturer of professional microphones, with its products sold in 6,000 stores in 117 countries.

Its Sydney plant includes $60 million dollars in precision machinery and employs staff skilled in electronics, audio and acoustics engineering, industrial design, robotics, metal production, toolmaking, injection-moulding, logistics, assembly and quality control.

“We released our first podcast product, the Podcaster USB microphone, in 2004,” said Freedman.

“Since then, our broadcast microphones, especially the Procaster and RØDE NT-USB mics, have become the microphones of choice for the growing podcasting and vlogging world.”

The new product is a bold product expansion for the company, with Freedman acknowledging the central role of his staff in the development.

“The RØDECaster Pro is also a huge triumph of collaboration for my fantastic team: talented people doing great things.”
