The Tasmanian government is inviting applications for grants worth up to $100,000 under the fourth round of the Advanced Manufacturing Accelerating Growth Grant program.

The program supports investment by the state’s manufacturers “to purchase capital equipment, linked to an off island market driven expansion opportunity with resulting increased employment.”

The first three rounds have awarded a total of $2.19 million in grants, supporting a total of $9.2 million investment through projects.

Tasmanian manufacturing and defence industries minister Madeleine Ogilvie cited Pivot Maritime International (pictured) – a specialist in maritime simulation design, manufacturing and training – as a success story.

“Pivot Maritime sells its products into defence and commercial markets around the world, said Ogilvie in a statement on Wednesday.

“Pivot Maritime received $100,000 under round two of the program to assist with the purchase of equipment to support its expansion into the new business stream of 3D renderings of high resolution maritime environmental models.

Applications are open until 2:00 pm on March 24.

Guideline and other information is available here.
