Roy Green to lead review of Energy Industry Jobs Plan

Manufacturing News

Emeritus Professor Roy Green, the Special Innovation Advisor at the University of Technology Sydney, will deliver a review of the Net Zero Economy Authority’s Energy Industry Jobs Plan (EIJP) by the end of the year.

Net Zero Economy Authority CEO David Shankey announced the appointment of Green (pictured) to lead the statutory review of the EIJP on Thursday. He will consider the effectiveness of the plan, which is described as helping “people working in closing coal-fired and gas-fired power stations and their dependent employers… to access new employment through a redeployment process.”

Green said in a statement on Thursday: “The EIJP has been designed to ensure workers transitioning from coal and gas facilities are provided with fair and structured pathways to new employment. The EIJP Review will consider whether the legislation is performing as planned.”

Shankey released the Terms of Reference for the review on Thursday. They can be accessed at this link.
