SEA Electric wins triple figure EV truck order

Electric truck drivetrain manufacturer SEA Electric has won a massive order for 100 electric trucks from US company Zeem Solutions.

The Melbourne manufacturer will make the SEA-Drive 120a drivetrains locally and have them assembled onto their Hino 195 chassis by Fontaine Modifications for use in California.

The drive is an 80kW continuous power system, with 129 kW maximum power and a range of 321 km.

Zeem provides fleet operator with strategies to lower operating costs when buying or leasing commercial EVs.

SEA Electric founder Tony Fairweather said the order was the company’s first three digit order.

SEA manufactures drivetrains in Melbourne, is building a truck and van assembly plant in the La Trobe Valley, and contracts assembly in the United States.
