A $20 million contract will see Thales Australia continue sustainment of anti-submarine torpedoes in Western Australia.

Thales has had the support contract since the adoption of the MU90 Light Weight Torpedoes by the Royal Australian Navy in 2013.

“I am proud that Thales Australia has been awarded this contract to continue with the in-country, in-service support provided at its Rockingham facility in WA,” said defence industry minister Melissa Price in a statement on Tuesday.

“Thales Australia is among many local defence businesses providing robust, secure domestic supply chains and high-tech jobs for working Australians.”
