A $35 million upgrade has been completed at The Magnum Ice Cream Company’s Minto facility in southwest Sydney, where 400 are employed and nearly three million ice cream servings are made every day.
According to an announcement on Thursday from the maker of brands including Blue Ribbon, Golden Gaytime, Magnum and Paddle Pop, the investment includes “new automation and advanced manufacturing technology” as well as a refurbishment of the support office, with “state-of-the-art amenities and a design inspired by classic Streets ice cream parlours.”
The site has been running for more than two decades, employs more than 400 people across factory, office and broader operations, and produces about 63 per cent of all ice creams sold by The Magnum Ice Cream Company across Australia and New Zealand.
Magnum Company’s Head of Manufacturing ANZ, Waqas Zaheer, said: We’ve worked hard to streamline this site which is now recognised as a top performer in our category for supply chain and customer service.
“In the past two and a half years we have doubled the [factory’s] efficiency while also maintaining zero waste to landfill and reducing overall waste by around 72 per cent since 2022.”
