Thomas Global delivers submarine control systems

Sydney defence manufacturer Thomas Global Systems has completed delivery of key components of the Integrated Ship Control Management and Monitoring System for Australia’s Collins submarine fleet.

The delivery, under stage 2 of an obsolescence remediation project, was of hardware for the updated Distributed Control Modules and Fixed Conning Consoles for the boats.

Thomas Global’s CEO, Angus Hutchinson said the project was delivered on time and within budget.

“Thomas Global is honoured to continue our long-term support for the Collins Class program in increasing the fleet’s availability for the Royal Australian Navy.”

The Australian made equipment is part of a larger contract awarded to Saab for the upgrade of HMA Ships Dechaineaux, Rankin, Sheean and Farncomb.

Founded in 1956, Thomas Global specialises in the design, production and support of electronic systems solutions for commercial aviation and defense applications.
