Time running out to be part of March/April roadshow for Army’s biggest project

Final calls are being made for businesses wanting to participate in roadshows over March and April for the Army’s biggest project, the LAND 400 Phase 3.

Registration is open until February 21 for the LAND 400 Phase 3 Mounted Close Combat Capability Roadshow, which will take in capital cities and selected regional locations. It is an opportunity for companies to pitch to the short-listed prime contractors, Hanwha Defense Australia and Rheinmetall Defence Australia.

Phase 3’s project description is “acquisition of up to 450 Infantry Fighting Vehicles (the M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier replacement) and up to 17 Manoeuvre Support Vehicles.”

“Australian industry will be absolutely critical to the success of this project,” said defence industry minister Michelle Price in a statement.

The IFVs will replace the M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers that have been in service since the 1960s.
