US manufacturer Klein Tools acquires Australian electrician equipment company






Electrician equipment company Klein Tools, headquartered in Illinois, US, has acquired ElMako, parent company of the Wattmaster and Alco brands.

Chicago’s Daily Herald reports that the terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The paper reports Thomas R. Klein, Sr., chairman of Klein Tools, as saying, “The Wattmaster business is very appealing to Klein Tools as we continue to expand our Australian market presence.

“Wattmaster and Klein Tools have much in common, including loyal customers and reputations for high-quality products. We believe our combined resources will present additional growth opportunities.”

Klein was established in 1857, and is distributed in Australia through Mumme Brands. The Australian company it is acquiring markets and distributes tools, instruments and consumables for electricians, and Wattmaster brands include Marvel, Rola-case, Witte and Anaconda. It is based in Carrum Downs, Victoria.
