The system connects patients and medical practitioners in remote areas via satellite, allowing remote monitoring of patients and diagnosis of health conditions.

Using a range of devices such as digital cameras, pulse oximiters, ECG heart monitors, thermometers and digital stethoscope, patients can monitor their own health in consultation with a doctor at another location.

The system also can be used in prison health environments, aged care, mining oil and gas sectors and the armed forces.

Now Peter Shandley, coo Visionflex Telehealth, has announced that ultrasound capabilities had been added to the ProEx Telehealth Hub in partnership with FUJIFILM Sonosite.

He said: “The Sonosite iViz is now available in the ProEX Telehealth Suite for any remotely located healthcare facility.”

Other options available for the the ProEx Telehealth Hub include an endocamera, dental camera, blood pressure monitors, and video rhino laryngoscope.

Together they make up a comprehensive examination toolkit for observation, patient data storage and live-streaming.
