Visy releases first direct-to-consumer retail product

Packaging and recycling company Visy has launched its first retail product range, temporary floor and surface protection made from recycled paper.

In a statement on Monday, the company said Visy Tread is being made at its paper mills at Reservoir and Coolaroo in Melbourne from 100 per cent recycled paper, and can be easily recycled via kerbside bins after use.

The Visy Tread range includes a  Heavy Duty Surface Protection “for long term construction, renovations and DIY projects” and Builders Temporary Surface Protection “for small renovations, DIY projects and moving homes.”

According to the company’s GM for consumer products, Rod Sutton, “It is easy to use and performs well for all sorts of jobs—from industrial work sites to odd-jobs at home.

“By using 100% recycled Australian paper and manufacturing Visy Tread locally, we’re supporting local jobs in Australia and reducing our reliance on single use plastics.”
