The annual Export Awards have been celebrated in Western Australia, a state that contributes just over half of the country’s merchandise exports.
Winner in the manufacturing and advanced materials category was shipbuilder Austal. Manufacturers were also winners in divisions including creative industries (high-end instrument maker Ormsby Guitars), regional exporter (meat processor Derby Industries) and international health (contract chemistry business Epichem.)
The overall winner was CBH Grain, which also took out the agribusiness, food and beverages category.
A full list of category winners is reproduced below.
“All the 2021 winners are examples of the strength shown by Western Australian exporters during these unprecedented times,” said state trade minister Roger Cook in a statement.
WA’s exporters contributed $187 billion, or 51 per cent, of total merchandise Australia’s exports in 2020.
Winners from each category proceed to the Australian Export Awards, which are to be held on November 25.
