WA personal care business earns $1.7 million hand sanitiser contract

Wild Child Laboratories has received a $1.7 million order from the West Australian government for hospital hand sanitiser.

WCL was established in 1997 as a maker of all-natural head lice treatment. According to its website it now makes over 300 different “cosmeceutical” products, and won Australian Exporter of the Year in 2008.
It will produce 200,000 bottles of hand sanitiser for the state’s hospitals, provided over 40 weeks and made to WA Health specifications.

“This is just one great example of how Western Australian manufacturers are stepping up to the mark to help protect our healthcare workers and their patients during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Health Minister Roger Cook in a statement.

“The ability to secure essential supplies of clinical-grade hand sanitisers for our hospitals is critical for good hand hygiene to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other germs.”
