Westlab ramps up manufacture of face shields

Laboratory and hospital supplier Westlab has cranked up production of reusable face shields locally.

The company will begin delivery to state and federal stockpiles over the next 4-5 weeks.

Westlab wrote on social media: “The team in full swing manufacturing Reusable Face Shields here in Australia.

“We are currently producing 125,000 reusable shields per week.”

Westlab warehouses 2,500 product lines including medical and laboratory equipment and certified PPE equipment, either made locally or imported, making it one of the largest private sector sources for front-line workers.

Westlab has been serving the laboratory and healthcare markets since 1993.

In 2013 the company expanded into North America with warehousing and offices in Canada.
