Winners named at Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards

The 22nd Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards were held on Wednesday night, with some of the major honours going to Stahl Metall, CSL and Assembled Threads.

Held at the Crown Palladium Auditorium, the annual awards saw contract manufacturer Stahl Metall inducted to the Hall of Fame as the 2024 Leader in Manufacturing.

According to a statement from the department of jobs, skills, industry and regions on Thursday, this recognised of the company’s “commitment to quality control and excellence making customised harness assemblies and electrical enclosure boxes.”

Taking out the Manufacturer of the Year prizes were social enterprise Assembled Threads (Small Business), Hanlon Industries (Medium Business), and CSL (Large Business.)

Two of the individual awards, reads the statement from DJISR, went to “Krueger Transport Equipment founder John Krueger[,]… added to the Honour Roll for Service to Industry, and Catten Industries co-owner Latinka Cubbitt [who] won the Woman Manufacturer of the Year award for her significant contributions to the precision sheet metal fabrication industry” 

The awards saw a total of 190 nominations and 43 finalists in 13 categories this year. Three new categories were leadership in Textile, Clothing and Footwear (won by Australian Defence Apparel), Construction Technologies (Modscape) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (Alstom.)

Young Manufacturer of the Year – Afnan Siddique, Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions

Woman Manufacturer of the Year – Latinka Cubitt, Catten Industries

Leader in Construction Technologies – Modscape

Leader in Gender Equality and Inclusion – Alstom Transport Australia

Leader in Health Technologies – CSL

Leader in Textile, Clothing and Footwear – Australian Defence Apparel

Leader in Transport and Rail – Alstom Transport Australia

Leader in Manufacturing – Stahl Metall

Manufacturer of the Year – Regional Business – Farm Foods

Manufacturer of the Year – Small Business – Assembled Threads
