Manufacturing News

Ballistic body armour manufacturer Xtek has won another armour contract for ‘an undisclosed customer’, this time for the urgent supply of body armour and ballistics helmets from its HighCom division to the value of $9.5 million.

The order follows further urgent orders this year, bringing total new orders for its ballistics division since March 1 to $17.6 million, and total group new orders to $22.7 million.

Xtek CEO Scott Basham said shipments would be made to the customer over coming weeks.

Basham said: “HighCom is XTEK Group’s global armour business, and it is the foundation of our Ballistics Division.

“Through our advanced manufacturing capabilities in Columbus, Ohio, and with our patented XTclave capability located in Adelaide, South Australia, we manufacture world-leading, ultra-lightweight and high-performance body armour plates and ballistic helmets.

“We supply these world-class, advanced personal protection ballistic products and solutions to militaries, law enforcement agencies, and first responder customers all around the world.”

Basham said the new order would supply a regional customer.

“This is a further illustration of the group’s ability to support our customers’ priority operational demands with little to no notice.

“Xtek’s HighCom production teams have been working around the clock now for months to manufacture our highly sought after specialist ballistic products, and we continue to be very deeply engaged with many international customers to help them solve their urgent ballistic armour supply requirements”.
