CAE awarded $26 million Hercules simulator project

Systems integrator CAE Australia has earned a $26 million contract to upgrade a C-130J aircraft training simulator and training systems at the Richmond air force base in western Sydney.
The simulator for the RAAF would provide “the highest quality of training available,” said defence industry minister Melissa Price in a statement. The C-130 is a family of military transport aircraft made by Lockheed Martin.
Seven new jobs would be created over four years through the project, with the first Air Force students using the new simulator and training systems in early 2023.
CAE has been operating in Australia since 1994 and is headquartered in Homebush, NSW. It manages and supports RAAF training simulators around Australia and is part of Team Reaper Australia for the remotely piloted aircraft systems Project Air 7003.
