Australian automotive engineering company Premcar has begun production of the first-ever Nissan Patrol Warrior at its newly-opened Epping factory, with the vehicles set to appear in Nissan showrooms in October.
In a statement on Friday, Premcar said full secondary new-vehicle production of the Australian-engineered-and-developed Warrior follows the completion of its final local tuning and manufacturing readiness programs (see video below.)
Bernie Quinn, Engineering Director at Premcar, described it as a proud moment to see the first models progress along the new assembly line.
“To create this amazing off-road SUV the Premcar team has broadened the award-winning Nissan Patrol’s already impressive abilities across a range of road surfaces, from smooth tarmac to rough terrain and everything in between,” added Quinn.
The new assembly site was officially opened in June and is a short walk from Premcar’s current engineering and manufacturing centre. Premcar said it would also be used to meet demand for the Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior and SL Warrior dual-cab 4×4 models.
Premcar was named one Australia’s 50 most innovative manufacturers in a recent campaign by @AuManufacturing.
